Friends of Lake Powell Up and Running

The Friends of Lake Powell group was started in June 2005, with the aims to learn more about the lake and educate others, get out on the Lake to keep an eye on it so that management can be improved, help with practical management and to generally enjoy visiting the lake together.

The Friends of Lake Powell group has been set up with the support of the Department of Conservation and Land Management as part of the Torbay Catchment Group. The meeting appointed John and Marg Blaney-Murphy as convenors of the group.

"We really appreciated Val Hack from the Gilberts Potoroo Action Group coming to our first meeting to share experiences in setting up a friends group". Said Mr Murphy.

"We hope that the Friends of Lake Powell can involve lots of local residents and others with an interest in the Lake," said Mr Murphy. "People don't have to commit to every meeting but can pop in when possible for a chat, a cuppa and to pick up recent information."
