The Treasurer provided the same report as previous general meeting as nothing had changed except for a cheque for $715 sent for a fencing project. Graeme has discussed audit and BAS statement with Wendy Wason. A letter authorising Graeme to purchase key for letter box to be provided by Secretary. Terri to write letter and fax.
Finance Report accepted by Andrew Marshall and seconded by Phillip Marshall.
5.1 Discussion and group response on the Marbellup Brook Catchment Area Draft Drinking Water Source Protection Plan
The group discussed the report and formulated a response. Action: Karen to respond on the group's behalf. Will be emailed for comment prior to Monday 23rd October.
5.2 Riverprize Twinning project
Karen has sent "Twinning Guide" via email. Karen reminded the group of the requirements for a successful partnership. Andrew recommended a working group be formed to research. Louise recommended a media release and call for volunteers to assist in setting up a project to decide on a project.Louise tabled a brochure from an International Land Care conference that she recently attended which has the following website which may provide a starting point in the quest for a suitable location for a Twinning project. www.landcareinternational.net.
Action: Karen to prepare media release which will call for volunteers to assist in identifying a project. Andrew agreed to be the contact person with Andrew, Terri and Louise to form subcommittee to develop the project.
5.3 Marketing Strategy
Louise tabled the Draft Social Marketing Strategy for Watershed Torbay. Following discussion and feedback it was decided that all members are to email Karen or Steve with their prioritised strategies for targeted actions by Monday 23rd.
5.4 Finalist in regional Achievement & Community Awards
The media release was emailed to all members by Karen. Terri, Phil, John and partners will attend presentation dinner in Perth on Friday 10th November. Andrew proposed that the catchment group purchase the extra four dinner tickets. Seconded Maurice Mc Cormack. Terri to investigate the purchase of tickets.
5.5 Weed management Report
The Community Justice team, City of Albany, Steve May, Chris Westcott, Andrew Marshall and Maurice McCormack have commenced spraying. Steve to map the areas sprayed this year. Adrian reported the Water Corp have sprayed their reserve area located behind the Elleker township. Western Rail are spraying the three metres either side of the track and intend to plan for further areas following costing. A replanting program will be developed by Steve May.
5.6 Karen proposed the group pay $75 to Diane Harwood for her workshop presentation on Saturday am.
5.7 Andrew reminded the group that Louise's contract finishes on completion of marketing Strategy.
Maurice proposed that Louise's contract be extended utilising funds from River prize. Seconded by John Blaney- Murphy. Action: Phil, Andrew, Karen and Steve to form a working group to determine need and contract.
5.8 SCRIPT Southern Incentive 3 grants for coastal works has been advertised.
Action: Phil to discuss with president of Elleker Progress Association.

Pre meeting activity- Karen suggested visit to Lake Powell including canoeing (weather permitting) with a 4.30 start followed by barbecue at 6.30 pm and general meeting at 7.30

Adrian will organise a presentation by the Water Corp in March 2007.
