General Meeting

"Lake Powell Paddle" was held prior to the meeting at 4.30pm and Barbecue at 6.30 pm.

    Meeting commenced with presentations from:

    Graeme asked for people when requesting or supplying moneys to outline to which area it belongs to assist him in managing the finances via MYOB.

  5. General Business:

    5.1 Workshop

    Wildflowers, weeds & wildlife October 21 2006 Torbay Hall Wildflower walk, John Moore- Ag Dept, talked on chemical use, Dianne Harwood discussed bush regeneration and Wildlife carers shared their experiences.

    5.2 Research Grants

    Paul Close is keen to gain support from the catchment group to investigate obtaining grants for further research into the water requirements and fish stocks for example.

    5.3 Subdivisions

    Maurice informed the meeting that it was stated in the advertiser that the Godiniland sub division is now completely sold. Karen has had call from Adam Roebuck of Godiniland regarding coming to the meeting to speak to the catchment group.

    Karen informed the meeting of another subdivision in Lowanna Road through to Lower Denmark Road. The creek will be fenced and revegetated as a condition of the subdivision.

    5.4 Control of Funding

    Steve reported that SCRIPT has informed D of W that they wish to retain control of the funding provided to support Torbay Waterways project. Steve to invite Patrick Weadon to an executive meeting to discuss their position.

    5.5 Twinning Project

    Meeting to progress Twinning Project at Andrew Marshall's house November 16th at 7.15pm.

    5.6 Birds of Lake Powell

    John tabled "Birds of Lake Powell" laminated posters which are available for $5 each
