General Meeting

Paul & Adrienne spoke about the current and past Greencorps projects working around Torbay Inlet and Muttonbird Beach.

  1. Welcome, attendance and apologies:

    Present: Kirsten Murray, John Blaney-Murphy, Maurice McCormick, Andrew Marshall, Chris Westcott, Phillip Mellon, Graeme Heighton, Karen McKeough, Olive White, Sandra Swain, Terri Harwood, Des Wolfe, Adrienne Beattie and Paul Beattie

  2. Confirmation of previous minutes and matters arising:

    Minutes of the previous General meeting 7th May, 2008, were circulated prior to the meeting. There were no matters arising.
    The minutes were accepted by John Blaney-Murphy and seconded by Andrew Marshall

  5. Staff reports:

    5.2 Project Officer: Kirsten Murray:

    Fencing, drainage demo site, SCNRM plans and future field trips demonstrating "ideal drains".

  6. General Business:

    6.1 Bus Trip
    Bus Trip scheduled for 21st is cancelled.

    6.2 Macroinvertebrates
    Macroinvertebrate collection day is scheduled for 28th. All invited to assist.

    6.3 Twinnings project visit
    John Blaney-Murphy and Phil Mellon will visit Jawallmanangah on 232/7/08. They will meet with Lawrence Emery, Dr Maryann Jubb and Louise Duxbury and then proceed to the community. The community members are very keen to meet with us. Karen also told us that Paul Close will be on the Fitzroy River working on a Tropical Rivers R&D project so may also meet up with the group. Next twinnings meeting will be determined by Phil and Louise.

    A card was received by Maurice from Sylvia (IRF) thanking the group for their assistance with her book.

    6.5 Kirsten leaving
    Kirsten's last meeting as she now has a contract for 6 months as River Coordinator for Walpole to Jerramungup. The group thanked her for her work in our catchment. Karen's contract continues until December. Further extensions to be determined.

    6.6 Tree planting day
    Tree planting day at Torbay on July 5th with the offer of free trees extended to June 30th.

Phil reminded the meeting of the upcoming events

and closed the meeting at 2055
