John Blaney-Murphy, Phil Mellon and Louise Duxbury visited Jarlmadanga. John briefly outlined aspects of the visit however Louise is writing a report which will be presented to the group once it has been seen by the Jarlmananga community and other members of the visiting group. On Wednesday they met with Mr Watson and travelled to the community and camped overnight. They returned to Broome on Thursday. John spoke of the excellent experience. The community has 85 fulltime members, a school with 20 very keen students and a Principal and two teachers. Two community plans that John briefly mentioned were, their intention to expand the cattle herd and therefore need to extend their fencing and there is an area of the Fitzroy River which floods and causes erosion which they may be keen to share knowledge on. He however reiterated that a full report will be available soon.
