Executive Meeting

WEDNESDAY 9 July 2008 at 7.30 pm

  1. Welcome, attendance and apologies

    The Chairperson, Phillip Mellon welcomed those present to the meeting at 1940.

    ATTENDANCES: Maurice Mc Cormick, John Blaney-Murphy, Adrian Stratico, Terri Harwood and Graeme Heighton

    APOLOGIES: Karen McKeough, Kirsten Murray Andrew Marshall, Philip Marshall, Chris Westcott and Des Wolfe

  3. Financial Report

    Treasurer's Report

    3.1 Cash Management Account: $203,448

    3.2 Cheque Account: $5653.77

    Treasurer's report proposed by Graeme Heighton and seconded by John Blaney-Murphy.

  4. Staff Reports:

    Karen supplied catchment plan update working document for comment. Phil to copy and supply to several members for their comment.

  5. General Business:

    5.1 Bank Interest
    Currently NAB offering 7.1% with no bank charges to operate the account. The treasurer researched other banking institutions however recommended that the NAB is offering the best rates at this time.
    Maurice McCormick moved and seconded by John Blaney-Murphy that we remain with the current accounts and for review in 6 months.

    5.2 Twinnings Project:
    Phil, John and Louise to travel to Jarlmadanga 22-25th July The meeting proposed that the costs of travel for three people, accommodation, food and any costs related to the conduct of the meeting be met by the RiverPrize money.
    Moved by Maurice and seconded by Graeme.

    5.3 River Foundation Conference:
    Graeme and Terri to attend. Costs of travel and accommodation to be met by the catchment group.

    5.4 River Conference Art Project:
    See correspondence inwards.

    5.5 Extractive industry:
    City of Albany has erected a sign re proposed extractive industry on corner of Corio and Cochrane Roads. Maurice proposed Karen write a letter to enquire re the project, seconded by Terri.

    5.6 Buffer vegetation:
    Maurice proposed we ask Karen to correspond with City of Albany re lack of Buffer vegetation on South Coast Highway subdivision property. Seconded by Graeme.
